Affordable architectural service launches

A new Melbourne company has launched with the promise of supplying affordable architectural services to homeowners. My Architect - an exhibitor at the forthcoming Master Builders Building & Home Improvement Expo in July - offers pay-as-you-go pricing that enables customers to use the services of an architect as much or as little as required.

Homeowners can choose from a wide range of services; consulting an architect on an initial concept or handpicking specific items from My Architect's service menu on a 'pay-as-you-go' basis.

Established in October 2009, the company's services are suitable for all kinds of renovation projects regardless of their size, complexity or budget, from extensions and additional levels, to internal space re-configurations for a changing lifestyle.

My Architect director and RAIA registered architect, Robert Harwood, said the company was launched to streamline architectural services and make them more cost-effective.

"For a fixed fee of $825, homeowners can now come away after an initial half day visit from an architect with an outline proposal for their renovation, design options, sketch drawings, advice on planning and building regulations and likely costs for their renovation or extension going forward."

My Architect projects have already commenced in a number of Melbourne locations including Abbotsford, Collingwood, Blackburn North, East Burwood, four projects in the Rosanna and Heidelberg region and Pt. Addis on the Surf Coast. A number of these projects were secured through builder referrals.
