In 2009 Formcraft Vic took on the challenge of improving the energy efficiency star ratings of Victorian homes through the use of new energy saving systems.
As a result, their FormPro Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) wall system was created which surpasses traditional wall systems such as brick and framed construction in its energy efficiency, cost effectiveness and speed of construction. The wall system uses high density expanded polystyrene panels as formwork to build the insulated concrete walls.
In recent years Formcraft Vic has worked extensively across the Victoria's bushfire affected regions as their FormPro Insulated Concrete Form wall system meets the necessary Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) requirements.
Formcraft has found themselves regularly involved in projects that are leading the way towards sustainable living and building solutions. Most recently working with Master Builder Anton Engelmayer's on a project in Upper Ferntree Gully constructed using Formcraft's insulated concrete forms for the homes exterior. The product was chosen in part for it's high thermal rating.
To complement the Formcraft ICF walls and to maximise the thermal efficiency benefits Anton
also installed solar panels, double glazed windows, used environmentally safe paint. Furthermore the home has a complete grey-water storm system to retreat waste water. It is envisaged that this home will have a STAR RATING in excess of 9.
On 31 March 2011 Anton was recognised by the Building Commission by being presented with the 5 Star Sustainability Excellence Award.
Since its inception Formcraft Vic has been successfully developing its reputation as a leading supplier of sustainable building solutions which has resulted in them being listed on the Sustainability Victoria's website and the highly regarded EcoSpecifier website.
