Green organisation EcoMaster has set itself an ambitious goal; to reach 15,000 households in Victoria and achieve a minimum 10 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions through its assessment process.
EcoMaster, which specialises in environmental consulting and services, had been involved in providing free (government funded) home sustainability assessments to householders in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland for the past 10 months, confirmed EcoMaster assessments manager Lyn Newberry.
"The assessments, which include behaviour and retrofit advice, give householders invaluable information on how to make their homes more sustainable, resulting in reduced running costs and a more comfortable environment."
"Our team of assessors conduct assessments by visit homes and spend about one and a half hours speaking with the householder, providing practical advice and collecting data," she confirmed.
EcoMaster was encouraging Build Expo Online readers, families and friends to book a free Government Funded Home Sustainability assessment, she said.
"The assessments are an excellent way for households to learn about, and improve, the sustainability of their homes."
In addition, for every booked and completed assessment a donation of $10 will be made to the Shelterbox project, an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster worldwide. Each box costs $1200 and is tracked by way of a serial number, so donors can track where each box is deployed.
In addition to assessments, EcoMaster offers a full suite of eco-friendly home improvement solutions, including lighting, insulation, draught proofing, roof ventilation and window solutions, all of them designed to create energy and financial efficiencies, while also working towards protecting the environment.
EcoMaster will be on show at the Master Builders' Building & Home Improvement Expo from 9-11 July at Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
