Low carbon paving to launch at expo

24 March 2010

Low carbon concrete specialist Zeobond is launching a new proprietary product to cater to growing demand for low carbon paving materials. Exhibiting for the first time at the Master Builders' Building & Home Improvement Expo in Melbourne this July, Zeobond COO Peter Duxson said the new brand, Zeostone, would fill a  gap in the market.

"Until now there has been no low carbon paving on the market. Not only have we filled that gap, we've done it to the highest possible specifications and brought it in at competitive prices. Zeostone is the best paver, even if you're not looking for eco-friendly paving, in terms of durability, slip resistance and price."

Launched four years ago, Zeobond had initially focused on product development, R&D and building a supply chain for its E-Crete concrete products, developed in partnership with leaders in the concrete field. "However Zeostone is entirely our own product and represents a new direction for us," Duxson said.

Zeostone would officially launch later this year, initially comprising two sand finish products, with the range expected to expand significantly as the product evolved, he said.

The brand, along with Zeobond's other low carbon products, was in strong demand from an increasingly aware market, he said.

"Concrete is the biggest consumed product globally after water. It's absolutely central to modern life as we know it. And yet every tonne that's manufactured creates a tonne of carbon. Growing uptake of low carbon products is therefore essential in future."

The Master Builders' Building & Home Improvement Expo will take place from 9-11 July at Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
