Paarhammer returns to expo

11 April 2011

Sustainable window, door and shutter specialist Paarhammer will showcase its leading edge product range and share its expertise at the forthcoming Building & Home Improvement Expo.

Co-founder Edith Paarhammer confirmed the firm would be displaying Australia's most energy efficient windows, bi-fold doors, sliding doors, entrance combinations with i-glass, bushfire windows for BAL-40 and bushfire shutters for BAL-FZ at the show.

Key highlights of the product range included the use of i-glass, a Ballarat (Victoria) invention comprising intelligent glass that provides comfort and privacy control at the flick of a switch.

Liquid crystal is dispersed within a formulated polymer enabling the crystal particles to be aligned parallel in respect of each other when the flow of electricity occurs. When the flow is stopped the crystals return to their original position, blocking the flow of light; clear turns to frosted.

The use of i-glass has innumerable applications including bathroom windows, entrance combinations or commercial use for hospital partitions, hotels, banks, offices or shops.

Meanwhile Paarhammer Fire Solution windows, doors and sliding doors are the first tested and approved windows and doors to Bushfire Attach Level 40 of the new Australian standard AS3959:2009. The company's Bushfire Shutter System meets the extreme rating of Flame Zone (BAL40) in accordance with the new standard.

Edith Paarhammer said the expo was the ideal opportunity to educate potential end users about the unique benefits of the company's range.

"With our products it is important that prospective clients can see, feel and touch them, open or close them and ask lots of questions. So as with former years we are hoping to give interested people, who are building or renovating, the chance to do so and to discuss their upcoming project."

"Personal contact is a very positive feature of the show; for us it is nice to get to know our future clients and for them it might be good to be able to speak to the owners of the company they could be using for their windows, doors and shutters, especially since these products have technologically advanced a lot over the last few years and now also represent a sizeable part of the building budget and star rating."

In addition to showcasing its suite of products and solutions on the expo floor, Tony Paarhammer will be a seminar speaker at the Building & Home Improvement Expo on all key aspects of sustainable window solutions.

Paarhammer will be on show at the Building & Home Improvement Expo taking place at Melbourne Exhibition Centre from 15 to 17 July.
